Travel Tips

There are several ways to get to us.

PLANE:
Option 1
Amsterdam Schiphol to Åre-Östersund Airport. This flight has a transfer in Stockholm Arlanda.
Then rent a car from Europacar, Avis, Hertz, Mabi and Sixt at the airport. (Book a rental car in advance!)
From there, it’s 1,5-hour drive, covering 105 km.

A tip: is to fly with the same airline so that the planes wait for each other in Stockholm.

Option 2
Amsterdam Schiphol to Sundsvall Timrå Airport. This flight has a transfer in Stockholm Arlanda.
Rent a car at the airport. (Book a rental car in advance!)
From there, it’s a 1,5-hour drive, covering 105 km.

Option 3
Amsterdam Schiphol to Stockholm Arlanda.
Rent a car at the airport. (Book a rental car in advance!)
From there, it’s a 5-hour drive, covering 455 km. (Best option)

Option 4
Amsterdam Schiphol to Stockholm Arlanda.
Then you can take a train to Sundsvall and rent a car there.

CAR:
Option 1
Amsterdam – Hammarstrand 1900 km. Drive through Germany and Denmark to the Great Belt Bridge / Storebælt Bridge (near Nyborg E20). Then to the Øresund Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö. From Malmö, there are several roads to Hammarstrand. You need a ticket for the bridges.

Option 2
Amsterdam – Hammarstrand 1900 km. In Germany, drive to the Puttgarden → Rødby ferry. For the second crossing, you can take the Øresund Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö or the Helsingør → Helsingborg ferry. From Helsingborg, there are several roads to Hammarstrand.

Option 3
Amsterdam – Hammarstrand 1900 km. In Germany, drive to the Kiel → Gothenburg overnight ferry. You’ll embark around 3:30 PM, and you’ll have your own cabin with a shower and toilet. Meals are served on board. After a wonderful night’s sleep, you’ll depart around 8:30 AM from Gothenburg to Hammarstrand (840 km). This is a 530 km difference.

Option 4
Amsterdam – Hammarstrand 1900 km. Drive trough Germany to the overnight ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg. This crossing takes about 6 hours. You’ll have your own cabin with a shower and toilet. Meals are served on the boat. Once you arrive in Malmö, there are several roads to Hammarstrand.
